This blog is my virtual scrapbook.
I try to give credits, link back and reference sources in all of my posts.
Please do not remove them, as I don't own any of these pictures, even if I altered them. Thanks.

The illustrations of Ida Bohatta (*1900; †1992) have accompanied me during elementary school. Any time we did well we got stamps in our booklets. For 10 collected stamps we got a little illustrated card called “Fleisskärtchen”. I loved those cards. Pictured are her books on the four seasons, printed in 1941.

Penguin book covers have again and again caught my eyes over many years and now I finally know, who is responsible for a large amount of them! Paul Buckley, executive creative director at penguin usa. Above: The Steinbeck Series, woodcuts by Andrew Davidson.

The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris by Moonbot Studios. Nominated for the Best Animated Short Academy Award 2011. I have no idea when or if they’ll take the film down, here the official website. Watch it, it’s wonderful, but it’ll make you cry, at least me…

A coincidence, or not…? Some time ago I was lucky enough to discover a 1942 edition of “The Story of Ferdinand” in a second-hand store. This was the first German version of the children’s book, published by Verlag Amstutz, Herdeg & Co, Zurich/Leipzig. The logo of the publisher stroke me as familiar…it reminds me immensely of the Anya Hindmarch logo!
Were they digging in the past, just like Bottega Veneta…?
