For collectors, these are the stars amongst butterfly pictures. The fairies. They’re pretty rare and therefore strongly sought after. When I started doing research on this kind of art I really thought that £188,- were quite expensive for this. That was before I watched a battle for an even smaller picture on ebay that ended with £360,- and another with £391,- shortly after.  Market Hill Antiques sold two fairy pictures for £595,-. A similar fairy with foil instead of wings went up to £102,-. Top left: auctionatrium.com sold for £123,- / right: was ebay sold for £360,-(lost source, sorry…) // Bottom left: was on ebay, starting price AU $450,00 (with noone bidding on it??) / right: was ebay sold for £391,-
